Nintendo officially unveils a coordinated release date for a lot of new hardware options.
With the Wii Remote Plus and special red Mario 25th Anniversary versions of the Wii and DSi XL hardware confirmed and dated for both Japan and Europe, it's finally North America's turn to find out when we'll be able to get our hands on it all. And that date is: November 7.
The limited edition Red Wii bundle will cost the standard $199.99, and will come with (naturally) a red Wii, along with both New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Sports packed in, the brand new Wii Remote Plus controller, and a Nunchuck. That means it won't come with the "hacked" version of the original Super Mario Bros. like the bundle in Japan does, nor will it come with the original Donkey Kong, as it does in Europe. Phooey.
The limited edition Red DSi XL bundle, meanwhile, will come with the red DSi XL (which also features "three iconic Super Mario Bros.-themed graphics" on it), along with Mario Kart DS packed in, and Brain Age Express: Arts and Letters, Brain Age Express: Math, and Photo Clock pre-loaded on the handheld. The bundle will cost $179.99.
And finally, the Wii Remote Plus controller will of course also go on sale separately on November 7, for $39.99. The controller will also be available as a pack-in with FlingSmash, which goes on sale November 7 as well.
So in other words, if you're a Ninendo fan with deep pockets, consider November 7 your own personal holiday.
