NBA Jam Coming to 360/PS3 on November 17

Online play to be added via a patch to come in December.

NBA Jam will be releasing on November 17 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but it will only have limited online play out of the box. Alongside the release dates, EA announced today that more online features will come as a free downloadable patch in December. The company calls it a feature that the fan base expects and deserves.
At first, only the Classic 2-on-2 matches will be online. The December patch will add friend invite support and online versions for Remix Games like Backboard Smash, Domination Free-For-All, Elimination, and 21. It will also bring in an Online Progression mode that will unlock extra rewards.
The game has suffered from a confusing marketing roll-out that kept potential fans guessing about whether it would come to HD consoles, and in what form. Having online features unavailable at launch may similarly confuse those who aren't following the news closely, but a free patch is better than nothing at all. And on the bright side, the game reviewed well even without online multiplayer.
