Police responded to a 9-1-1 call after the man ordered everyone out of the store and began lighting its merchandise on fire. The entire mall was evacuated as the fire began to spread to other shops.
The suspect then barricaded himself inside a storage room at the GameStop, beginning a standoff with police that lasted nearly two hours. No injuries were reported, but the suspect was treated on-scene for smoke inhalation.
The motive for the arson has not been reported. The fire was relatively contained thanks to the mall's emergency sprinkler system, and the suspect has been transported to Roseville city jail.
