Ubisoft Announces PowerUp Heroes

Kinect-controlled superhero combat game set for June launch.

Ubisoft is stepping outside of the dance hall and into the ring for its next Kinect title. The publisher has announced PowerUp Heroes, a "full-body combat game" that allows players to transform their Xbox Live avatars into superheroes and do battle.

Designed specifically for Kinect, PowerUp Heroes tasks players with using their entire bodies to control each move in combat, launching projectiles, dodging strikes, and countering attacks. Get an idea of how it will unfold in the game's debut trailer:

The rundown from Ubisoft:
Players use their unique Xbox 360 avatars to create custom playable superheroes in the game and prepare their avatar for battle by infusing their super suit with deadly powers and special abilities. After the player's character destroys an enemy in battle, they will strip them of the super suit and wield their power for their next battle. There are 20 super suits to collect including the mighty Necromancer suit which allows the player to control a horde of skeletons, and the Mentalist suit that gives the player the ability to break into their enemy's mind.
PowerUp Heroes is an Xbox 360 Kinect exclusive. The game is set for launch sometime in June.
