Red Faction: Armageddon Demo Coming May 3

PSN, Xbox Live get download next week, no demo planned for PC.

Red Faction: Armageddon takes the sci-fi action to the underground cities of Mars, and gamers will get a chance to discover what lurks beneath the surface of the Red Planet when the Armageddon demo launches on May 3.

THQ and developer Volition made the demo announcement via the official Armageddon blog, noting that while the test run will be available for download on PlayStation Network (hopefully) and Xbox Live on May 3, no demo is planned for PC.

Details on the demo from Volition:

For the first time players will assume the role of Darius Mason and fight their way through Martian sewers and an oncoming alien infestation... Players will have at their disposal the Nano Forge as they combat alien invaders with concussive blasts and core-shattering tremblers. Rebuild all that you destroy with the Nano Forge's incredible Reconstruction ability. Finally, throw entire buildings at your enemies with Red Faction's signature weapon, the Magnet Gun.

Red Faction: Armageddon is being developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PCs. The game is set for launch on May 31. In related news, SyFy's Red Faction TV movie, Origins, is scheduled to air on June 4.
