Funcom Inks Deal with EA Partners for The Secret World

Conspiracy theory MMO to be co-published by EA Partners.

Funcom handled development and publishing duties on its last MMO, Age of Conan, but the Norwegian studio won't go it alone on its latest project, conspiracy theory MMORPG The Secret World. Funcom announced today it has inked a deal with EA Partners to co-publish the debut IP.

The Secret World has generated a nice buzz with a growing online community surrounding the game, which will cast players as members of secret societies attempting to unravel the mysteries of the universe.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Funcom, one of the world-leaders in the development of massively multiplayer online games," EA Partners GM David DeMartini said in a statement. "We are very excited to be able to take part in the growing online gaming category with such a highly anticipated title as The Secret World."

In The Secret World players will join the Illumanti, Templars, or Dragon and fight for power over important locations around the world, including Egypt, New England, London, New York, and Seoul. Using magic, martial arts, and modern weapons, players will also battle monsters of myth and legend. Check the cinematic trailer below to see The Secret World come to life.

Funcom has not ruled out an Xbox 360 version of The Secret World, but as of now the MMO is a PC exclusive. No release date has been announced for the game.
