Final Fantasy XIII-2 got all the headlines last week, but Square Enix also has news about an even more awkwardly titled entrant in the franchise: PSP RPG-fighter Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy is set to ship in March.
A prequel to 2009's Dissidia Final Fantasy, Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy once again brings together characters from the Final Fantasy universe to do battle in the arena.
"As the ultimate Final Fantasy fighting experience, all of the characters from Dissidia Final Fantasy return in Dissidia 012[duodecim], to deliver character matchups that fans have always dreamed of," Square Enix said in a statement. "Newly joining the battle between Cosmos and Chaos are Lightning, Kain and Tifa, each with completely new abilities and customization options for a more strategic combat system."
In addition to the original's blend of RPG character development and fighting, Dissidia 012 adds a command-based fighting mode that allows Final Fantasy fans to engage in the franchise's traditional turn-based combat.
The PSP exclusive is set to ship in North America on March 22.
