Warner Bros. announced Mortal Kombat will hit store shelves on April 19 in North America and April 18 in the UK. The PlayStation 3 version will include an exclusive additional character, Kratos, from the God of War series. PS3 owners will also be able to fight in 3D. No exclusive characters for the Xbox 360 have been confirmed.
Series creator Ed Boon told us his team was "coming back with a vengeance" as they attempt the reboot the franchise.
Three versions of the game will be available - Standard Edition, Kollector's Edition and Tournament Edition.
