In two weeks, World of Warcraft will change forever with the release of the MMORPG's third expansion, Cataclysm. Today Blizzard Entertainment invited fans to celebrate the release in style at launch events scheduled around the world.
In the U.S., the official launch event will take place in Fountain Valley, California at Fry's Electronics. Starting at 9 p.m. PST on December 6, WoW fans will be treated to tunes by Blizzard's in-house band, The Artist Formerly Known As Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, and a dance contest will award participants for showing off their favorite moves from the game. A number of the game's devs will also be on hand for a meet-and-greet and signing.
"After two years of development, we're excited to now be just two weeks away from releasing our best World of Warcraft expansion yet," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Cataclysm will add a huge amount of new content to the game and change the face of Azeroth forever, and we can't wait to celebrate this launch with players around the world."
