A New Alan Wake is Coming

But it's not Alan Wake 2. So what is it?

There are a lot of fans of Alan Wake out there. The Xbox 360 exclusive from Finnish developer Remedy wasn't a commercial smash-hit, but it was well-received by critics and core gamers alike. But Remedy has been mum about a new Alan Wake game… until now, that is.

A report on Joystiq confirms that Remedy is indeed working on a new Alan Wake title. Remedy issued a statement to the website that explained a bit about the new project. "Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming!" But the statement went on to explain that "this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC. The rest we're saving for our official announcement when we'll actually SHOW YOU."

The statement concluded that while information will be forthcoming (including if the game will be an Xbox 360 exclusive or come to other platforms), Remedy is shooting for a Fall 2011 release. Perhaps we'll hear more about this title at this year's E3, which is less than a month away.
